We operate a business and live on the traditional territory of xučyun (Huichin), the ancestral and unceded land of the Chochenyo-speaking Ohlone people, the successors of the sovereign Verona Band of Alameda County. This land has been and continues to be of significant importance to the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe and other familial descendants of the Verona Band.

We acknowledge that every member of the Albany community has benefited, and continues to benefit, from the use and occupation of this land in 1820. In alignment with our community, inclusion, and diversity values, we are responsible for acknowledging and illuminating the relationship with Native peoples. As members of the Albany community, it is crucial that we not only accept the history of the land on which we reside but also recognize that the Muwekma Ohlone people are vibrant and integral members of the Albany and broader Bay Area communities today.
